Logisticians (supply)

Responsibilities

• Managing and optimizing all supply chain activities and departments, including order processing, procurement, transportation and customs clearance, storage, and cold chain logistics.
• Ensuring effective management of international orders and local procurement, including negotiating terms and prices with local suppliers, transportation of supplies into the country (including customs clearance) and distribution between projects.
• Overseeing stock management—both physical (storage) and administrative (inventory movement tracking).
• Preparing regular reports on expired medications, potential stock shortages, inventory levels and order lead times (including channel planning).
• Training and supervising local teams.

Supply chain and logistics managers may work at a coordination level (in the country’s capital), ensuring the flow of supplies from central warehouses to projects, or at the project level, managing the distribution of supplies to various departments within the project.

Requirements

• Completed education in supply chain management or a related field (e.g., economics, transport economics, logistics, business management).
• Minimum of 2 years experience in supply chain management or a related field (after graduation).
• Versatile professional experience (e.g., procurement, import-export, transportation inventory management).
• IT skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Strong knowledge of English.
• Ability to work on assignment for at least 6 to 12 months.

Desirable

• Knowledge of relevant information system technologies (e.g., ERP, spreadsheet software).
• Experience managing consumable inventory, preferably pharmaceutical supplies.
