Project coordinators

MSF project coordinators plan and manage projects and ensure all teams work together effectively to deliver high quality medical care to the communities we work with and assist. They are always based at the project site and work alongside the country coordination team to manage the project and staff. They are responsible for the safety and security of the team.

Responsibilities

  • Implementing project activities through optimal coordination of medical, logistical, financial and human resources.
  • Managing the project team, including ensuring safety in often-unstable environments.
  • Ensuring continuity and coherence of medical, non-medical and psychosocial activities.
  • Liaising between different teams.
  • Representing Doctors Without Borders on project-related matters to local communities, authorities, UN agencies and nongovernmental orgainzations in the project area.
  • Ensuring respect of the MSF Charter, principles and reputation.
  • Designing and conducting fact-finding missions when necessary.
  • Monitoring the political and humanitarian situation in the project region.
  • Creating a supportive working environment through ongoing training, guidance and supervision.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years working in MSF projects in a variety of settings, or relevant experience in a project coordinator role in another nongovernmental organization.
  • Experience in project management, budget control and project cycles.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and strategic thinking.
  • Strong diplomatic skills.
  • Strong knowledge of English and French.
  • Ability to work on assignment for at least 12 months.

Desirable

  • Completed education in project management or human resource management.
  • Work experience in unstable and volatile environments such as conflict zones or disasters.
  • Work experience in a medical organization.
